Annual Subscription Increase

After many years of holding the members’ annual  subscription at £5, to maintain and improve the services we provide and our resources, it is necessary to increase the  subscription to £7 per annum.

The membership fee covers the cost of entry to all the Association’s events for one year from date of payment (usually collected at attendance of any of our lectures or workshops).

Show and Tell’ Memory Workshop.

In November 2012 Tammy Van Der Muelen gave an interesting and useful lecture about working memory.  Following on from this successful lecture we are holding a ‘Show and Tell’ workshop on  Tuesday 25th June at St John’s School, Marlborough from 7.30 to 9 pm. We will have a selection of our resources on display and some of our members and guests will be showing and talking about other resources, software and strategies etc that they use to support weaknesses in working memory.

Please bring any resources, tips etc with you and if you can email any items that can be copied in advance to ginacooke.lwl.ltd@21.com

There will be a limited number of places available and it is essential that these are booked in advance.  Phone Susanne on the helpline 07729452143 to book a place.

Flag Day

Saturday 7th September is the date of our Flag Day. Membership subscription and the Flag Day collection are our main sources of income.  Please help us by volunteering to hold a collection tin in Marlborough High Street – please phone Gina 01672 512354 on ginacooke.lwl.ltd@21.com

We know how participation in this type of event suddenly makes you invisible – even to friends and family- but it does help us to cover some of the costs of running the helpline and providing speakers for our lectures.

News from the Association

Our aim is to raise the profile of the MDDA over the coming months. Although we have been an independent charitable organisation for about 25 years we still find parents, teachers and dyslexics surprised that they have not heard of us before!

We plan to attend as many school fetes as possible.

Please let us know if you would like us to have a presence at your school fete.
